Setsuko's Basil on this blog on 6th February 2013 was survived in a small pot. Today I made my Herb Garden with Parsley, Coriander, Chives and this Basil. I have never succeeded to grow vegetables or herbs in my life before. This time I am very serious.

I bought another cookbook.
I said "No more cookbook" the other day. But I bought another cookbook " Yates Garden Fresh Cookbook". A couple days ago, I was looking for" Spinach" for my cooking to follow the recipe. I could not find in two major local supermarkets. In the end I bought "Silver beet" instead. I searched Internet to make sure it does similar job for my cooking. It worked quite well in the end.
When I checked this book at the shop before buying, I realised Spinach is winter vegetable and Silver beet is summer vegetable from this book. This indicates this book may give me more information I need to know. So I put one in my shopping trolley. I found How to make"No-dig vegetable garden bed" in the book at home. Sooner or later we have to make our own vegetable garden. It is a big challenge for me. I am really a bad Gardener. Outside or inside any plant at my place dies often. Weeds are uncontrollable for me. I would like to see beautiful vegetable in my garden one day. It is one of my dream.

Flowering of Jacaranda
When I feel of a Summer in November, suddenly we see the full bloom of Jacaranda. I missed to take photographs of the peak flowering. Now their leaves are coming. But it is still beautiful. It is almost beautiful as Cherry blossoms in Japan. Maybe we should have a party under the tree like Japanese people do under the Cherry blossoms. This image was taken early morning.

Compost bin
I am a terrible Gardener. I envy often other people's garden and their abilities to plants and green.
Rosemary is tough plant. The tag said it is almost impossible to kill, but my last ones went so bad. I got new ones today. Also I bought a compost bin. It is difficult to choose one for me from many variety. I taught anything is better than nothing. So I got this one. See what happen with my green project and a pair of Rosemary pots this time.

Cholesterol
My husband has been complaining about his health condition and he said he must be diabetic. As you know he is very thin. He is not look like. After many tests, his doctor said he is definitely not a diabetic. But his cholesterol level is high, so he has to change his eating habit. No full cream milk or yogurt. No sweet biscuit and chocolate ......... He has just started swimming in the morning and he is actually feeling a lot better now.
So today I cooked "marinated chicken with steam greens" from the recipe book, the CSIRO total wellbeing diet book 2. It was quite good.

The first day of glassblowing 2009
We open our gallery to public from this weekend and it was the first day of glassblowing in 2009 today. I have told many people "We will shut down our furnace in December 2008 and having a break from glassblowing till March 2009." But we have not shut it down yet. The main glass melting furnace has been running for 2 years non-stop 24 hours 7 days a week. We do not work like the furnace but our mind cannot away from the furnace when it is on. It takes 10 days to cool and 10 days to heat it up again. We would not do on/off often. We still have to do some work before shutting down.
