My favorate salad for lunch and dinner

 Of course it is a low carbo at home for lunch and dinner. There are green leaves, cucumber, avocado, cheese, walnut and onion dressing in the bowl. I had it with chicken burgers of lots of shallot and ginger today.

New watch, New gadget - Heart beat monitor

I had a good result ( weight loss of 5kg in 4 months ) from the
latest diet without any extra exercise. That is great, but I know I need regular exercise for my body and brain. I bought a new gadget which is a heart beat monitor to make my motivation up. I like it as watch at moment. First I have to do my brain exercise to find out how to use this little computer.

Low carbo treats - red wine etc.

I can have "red wine" as low carbo diet. I often have cheese with Nori (dried sea weed) with red wine or black coffee.

Lost 5kg in 4 months

Setsuko has lost about 5 kg in last 4 months by low carbohydrate diet. I read a book about it during a flight from Tokyo to Gold Coast and started straight away.  I feel good and I would like to continue, so I am searching and learning exciting recipes and food without sugar and carbohydrate such as rice, bread, pasta … I would like to include this journey in this blog

Start a diet program and exercise in front of computer

I have not changed my weight for a year, since I started "2 meals day".  I am disappointed but the other hand I have not put any weight on.  That is not so bad.
Sometime I use an exercise method called " Only write down twice a day diet ". You get on a scale twice a day ( first in the morning and before going to bed ) and put on the graph paper. When people see loosing small amount of weight on the slope, their brain become happy and make then loose more.
I started a few days ago again. This time I can make my graph on computer instead of real paper.
The record of last few days gave me a hint why I do not loose. I realised I do not use my body almost at all.  I stopped going to Gym. I do not do glassblowing until April. Most of time I am in front of computer or cooking in my kitchen.
This morning I found a good exercise I can do in front of my computer. See what happen. At moment I can't show you easy access to the site, unless you can read Japanese and go to NHK site.

iphone + bike riding = Curves?



I have been a member of Curves ( exercise place ) for many years. I enjoy watching people and listen all gossip around me over there even I did not lose my weight. Now I do not have to go the town so often as before. I have decided to quit Curves at the end of this month.

I bought an iphone and started using my pushbike. It costs me about same per month. Do you think it is a good deal? I hope it works.

Herbal Medichin




My daughter has been suffering from Eczema - itchy skin for many years. Specially in winter when it is dry. Western doctor's prescription cream is not enough to keep her skin clean. So we get Herbal medicine from a Chinese Herbalist. It really works. It may take about 2 hours to get 800ml ( 4 cups ) for 2 days medicine to drink. One session is 10 days this time. Our house gets smelly and the medicine is horribly yukky to drink. But this is the way.

My dental check


I normally go to a dentist every 6 months for regular check up and cleaning. Somehow I missed his reminder letter and I did not go a lot more than 6 months. My dentist found a broken filling and fixed it.  I have a lot healthier teeth since I live in Australia. But still I do not like any of dental work on my teeth and always I get tears on my eyes. This picture is just showing how I feel my mouth must be like this.

I had a cold again.


I was in bed last few days.   I just slept most of time and read some books when  I felt like. I do not want to start working as normal even  I feel better. So I opened my note book computer to use paint software. I thought it is cute instead of photograph. This is first time to paint on computer. This is self-portrait in my nightgown. I did not see myself to draw. It is only from my imagination.

We found that the left eye of my husband is early stage of glaucoma yesterday. He only needs to put a eye drop for next 6 weeks.

Cabbage Diet、キャベツダイエットはじまる。


Australia is a fattest nation in the world. I am also effected by this nation's lifestyle and my waist line has been growing last 10 years. This method of dieting was given by my brother in low who had a success with this. I give a go with this this time. See what happen. Also I have started a food diary which written what I ate on paper. not in this blog. Maybe I should open another blog for that. I ate a bowl of cabbage 3 times already. It is boring. I need to be a creative with this cabbage menu.

Cholesterol




My husband has been complaining about his health condition and he said he must be diabetic. As you know he is very thin. He is not look like. After many tests, his doctor said he is definitely not a diabetic. But his cholesterol level is high, so he has to change his eating habit. No full cream milk or yogurt. No sweet biscuit and chocolate ......... He has just started swimming in the morning and he is actually feeling a lot better now. 

So today I cooked "marinated chicken with steam greens" from the recipe book, the CSIRO total wellbeing diet book 2. It was quite good.

One of new things I started this year ( Today ).












One of new things I started this year ( today ) is taking photos as walking / running as exercises. I have watched a movie called "yesman" recently and it gave me this idea. This way makes both activities - exercising and taking photos more interesting.
